Today, the Ghana Red Cross Society “official” officially launched the Ghana 2026 Flood Response Operation through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Disaster Response Emergency Fund (DREF) funding mechanism.

With localized flooding affecting communities across the country, this funding allows our teams to deliver rapid, lifesaving assistance, emergency relief items, and crucial support directly to those who need it most.

We remain committed to standing with our communities before, during, and after disasters.

GRCS Central Gonja Boosts Emergency Readiness Ahead of 69th Independence Day.

In a proactive move to ensure public safety during the upcoming national festivities, the Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS) Central Gonja District has concluded a rigorous two-day First Aid training session for volunteers in Buipe.

Recognizing the large crowds expected for Ghana’s 69th Independence Day, the District Organizer spearheaded this swift action plan in a strategic partnership with the Ghana National Ambulance Service.

By equipping our volunteers with these essential skills, the GRCS is committed to providing a secure environment for all citizens as we celebrate our nation’s heritage. At Central Gonja, our mission remains clear: we are ready to serve, and safety remains our first priority.

Building a Stronger Response in Tamale.

Ahmed Saleem recently led a deep-dive session with our Tamale Metropolitan volunteers at the Regional Secretariat. From honoring our Red Cross roots to mastering modern strategies for managing harmful information, the session focused on enhancing how we serve the community during crises.

The GRCS joined a collaborative health walk organization by National Youth Authority- Savanna Region.

As at today Friday 26th September,2025. The Ghana Red Cross Society joined a collaborative health walk organization by National Youth Authority- Savanna Region in collaboration with Still to Come, Narcotics Control, The Overlord Reps, Youths groups and students in Damongo Municipality.

The purpose of the walk is to sensitize the the community about the negative impacts of the Illicit Drug Abuse in the Region.

The king and overlord of the Gonja Traditional kingdom, His Royal Majesty Yagbon Wura Biikunuto Jewu Soape the first lauded the action and offer the team his blessings before we commence the walk.
