Values, Power, and Inclusion
The Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS) places dignity, equity, and inclusion at the heart of all our work.
We believe that humanitarian action must empower every person especially those who are often left behind.
Across all our programs, we make deliberate efforts to reach women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups. Our projects are designed to ensure everyone has a voice and a role in creating safer, healthier communities.
In initiatives like our Urban WASH program, we promote gender balance and equal opportunity by ensuring representation across gender and socioeconomic lines. Women volunteers are actively supported in leadership and decision-making roles, strengthening both community impact and confidence.
During disaster response, such as in flood-affected communities, we prioritize female-headed households and single mothers, providing hygiene kits, cash assistance, and psychosocial support in a safe and dignified way.
Guided by the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), GRCS continues to champion inclusion, accountability, and respect, ensuring no one is left behind.
