Strategic and Operational Cooperation

We work to strengthen collaboration and coordination across the humanitarian sector.

As humanitarian needs become more complex, we focus on building strong partnerships with the IFRC, ICRC, government agencies, and donors to deliver timely, effective, and principled assistance.

We promote Movement coordination through regular engagement with the IFRC and ICRC, ensuring that all partners work together under a shared vision and aligned strategies. This cooperation enhances our national response capacity and ensures that our work reflects global Red Cross Red Crescent priorities.

Through joint initiatives, such as the Cross-Border Security Meetings and the Movement Induction Course (Minimic) for governance members, We foster collaboration, build leadership skills, and strengthen operational coherence within the Movement.

Together with our partners, we have developed a national communications framework that improves internal coordination and strengthens public trust in the Red Cross. Security remains a core focus, supported by Movement-wide training, safer access measures, and insurance coverage for volunteers engaged in humanitarian operations.

At the Africa Regional level, we play an active role in cross-border collaboration, working with National Societies in Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, and Côte d’Ivoire to enhance regional security and humanitarian access.

Through these partnerships, we continue to promote unity, transparency, and collaboration, ensuring that humanitarian action in Ghana is coordinated, credible, and impactful.
