VOLUNTEER WITH THE GRCS.

Be the Strength Behind Humanity.

When disaster strikes, when a family loses their home, when someone needs lifesaving care, it is the compassion and commitment of volunteers that make the greatest difference.

The Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS) is built on the power of people who care, individuals who give their time, energy, and skills to help others in need. Today, we invite you to join this movement of humanity by becoming a Red Cross volunteer.

For over seven decades, the Ghana Red Cross Society has been at the forefront of humanitarian service, saving lives, restoring hope, and supporting communities during emergencies, health crises, and social challenges.

From responding to floods and fires, to providing First Aid, health education, and community support, our volunteers form the foundation of our work. They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things, driven by empathy, guided by humanity.

As a volunteer, you can serve in a variety of ways. You may choose to be on the frontlines, providing First Aid and relief during disasters, participating in health outreach programmes, or supporting vulnerable families in your community.

Or you may serve behind the scenes offering your professional skills to help sustain the operations of our National Society.

We welcome professionals from all fields: doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers, administrators, drivers, IT experts, communicators, and many others.

Every skill counts, and every contribution helps strengthen our collective capacity to serve.

Volunteering with the Ghana Red Cross Society is more than giving your time, it’s about being part of a global family.

As a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), we are connected to a network of over 16 million volunteers in 191 countries, all united by one goal: to alleviate human suffering wherever it is found.

When you wear the Red Cross emblem, you become a symbol of hope, neutrality, and humanity.

You bear values that transcend borders, religions, and politics.
Our volunteers receive training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

Through service, you develop leadership skills, resilience, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of humanitarian principles.

You also gain the satisfaction of knowing that your actions, no matter how small contribute to saving lives and strengthening communities across Ghana.

We understand that everyone can contribute in different ways. Whether you can give one hour a week, one day a month, or full-time support, your effort is valuable. You can volunteer individually, with your workplace, through your school, or as part of a community group.

Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more compassionate Ghana.
Join the Ghana Red Cross Society today and be a part of something greater than yourself. Let your compassion become action.

Let your strength bring comfort. Let your skills build hope.

Volunteer with the Ghana Red Cross Society, because together, we can make humanity shine brighter.
